Under the direction of the Manager, Research and Program Evaluation, the Knowledge Broker will work within, across, and externally to the organization to facilitate participation, engagement, and uptake of research. This includes engaging key stakeholders to participate in collaborative or WSPS-led research projects, providing evidence-informed analysis that can be integrated into solutions and services to advance knowledge mobilization, and conducting evaluations to determine outcomes and areas for improvement.
A key focus will be on bridging the research to practice gap that often exists between knowledge generators (i.e. the research community) and end users, and fostering an exchange of information to identify research needs and opportunities for collaboration. The Knowledge Broker will conduct research, and act as a trusted advisor to WSPS to draw upon the existing body of knowledge, information, research and leading practices to synthesize evidence and key messages for the target audiences. In this role, the Knowledge Broker will create practical strategies, and use knowledge exchange approaches, to influence the application of evidence into policy and practice.
