Topic
Like to say something about the impact of your research or KTE activities?
This workshop provides an opportunity to get some hands-on experience of assessing the impact of research or KTE. Building on an impact assessment framework developed using contribution analysis, the masterclass will allow you to build a case study of the impact of research and KTE, either on a project, programme, or research centre level. During the workshop you will build a contribution story for your research, assess risks and assumptions and start to identify useful indicators of research impact. This framework could be adapted to report to funders, to build a planning and evaluating cycle for KTE, or to showcase your work.
Speaker

The Masterclass will be run by Sarah Morton who has ten years experience of activities to increase the uptake of research at the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She has been investigating the processes of research impact as part of her PhD study. This included developing and piloting a framework for assessing impact across a range of projects. She has also assessed different potential methods and indicators for research impact. She is currently conducting a funded impact study as part of a UK project to develop better methods for research impact assessment, and advising colleagues in the University about impact assessment.
