Purpose:

This position will bring clinical and program management expertise, as well as knowledge in adult education/ e-learning, to support and enhance the Foundation’s knowledge translation and exchange (KTE) efforts for healthcare professionals.

The Senior Program Specialist will be responsible for content development/program design, maintaining strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders and the oversight of Health Professional Education KTE deliverables, including Heart and Stroke healthcare professionals web portal (www.heartandstroke.ca/hcp), resources for the healthcare community  and KTE programs such as the Heart&Stroke Clinical Update, the Stroke Collaborative, and the Heart&Stroke Hypertension Collaborative.

This position will also assist in the planning and development of future KTE and e-learning initiatives for healthcare professionals.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Knowledge Exchange Lead will play an important connective role on a local level. You will be an integral member of the EENet team. Reporting to the Regional Manager and taking strategic direction from the Manager of Knowledge Exchange in the Health Systems and Health Equity Research (HSHER) Group, this position will be responsible for a variety of knowledge exchange activities associated with EENet.  As the local ‘face’ of EENet you will act as a two-way conduit for information sharing between EENet and local communities.  The Regional KE Lead will be specifically charged with building and fostering linkages between community, hospital, university research centres, LHINs, other local and regional planning bodies and other community mental health and addictions stakeholders for knowledge exchange purposes. Your duties and responsibilities also include acting as local connectors of knowledge producers and knowledge users (e.g. planning tables, LHINs, community MH&A programs, hospital MH&A programs, Human Services and Justice Committees, public health bodies, etc); building and fostering relationships with researchers within Universities and Academic Health Science Centres; and enhancing community capacity to engage in research and KE activities and use evidence for decision-making; feeding research activity and promising practices back to EENet’s management and resource centre; developing KE products and organizing KE activities for the region and the broader network; and facilitating access to appropriate and tailored evidence in support of local and regional service collaboratives.
