Maureen Gustafson

Maureen is an Anishinaabekwe of mixed Ojibwe and settler heritage. A member of Couchiching First Nation, she grew up nearby in Fort Frances, Ontario. She is a loving auntie, sister, daughter, partner, and friend. Maureen obtained a Master of Public Health with specializations in Health Promotion and Indigenous Health from the University of Toronto in 2019. Her work is informed by professional experience at Indigenous-led research institutes in both Canada and Australia as well as Indigenous health and social service providers. Maureen is interested in facilitating collaborative knowledge translation planning, Indigenous understandings of knowledge translation, and data visualization. In 2020, Maureen was awarded the Knowledge Translation Award for Graduate Students by the National Collaborating Centres for Public Health in recognition of her work in this field.
