Dr. Hooley is Head of the International Centre for Guidance Studies, University of Derby, UK.  He is responsible for overseeing the development of the research and education programmes run by the Centre. He has been involved in research, teaching and education in and around higher education for most of his career and has particular interests in careers, doctoral education, social capital and the role of technology in research, teaching and guidance. Tristram is a member of the UK Careers Sector Strategic Forum, a Winston Churchill Fellow a Fellow of National Institute for Career Education and Counselling (NICEC) and serves on the editorial board of the British Journal of Guidance and Counselling. Design and Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) Specialist
(Contract position until March 2013)

The Instructional Design and Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) Specialist will implement the recommendations of an Evaluation Consultant on how to best modify the tools and fact sheets designed for people with diabetes for diverse ethno cultural and socioeconomic populations including linguistic and cultural alignment.  Adult education practices will be employed in disseminating the materials in the community at a range of events from large expos to hands-on educational workshops.  This position will play a lead role in working with an Evaluation Consultant to measure the learning programs and resources. This position will also need to work closely with a web specialist as the materials developed will be made available online for wide dissemination.
