New Year, New Position: Knowledge Exchange at the Mental Health Commission of Canada

HeadshotDear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my honour to announce that I have accepted the position of Director, Knowledge Exchange Centre, Mental Health Commission of Canada. http://www.mentalhealthcommission.ca

The start date is Monday, January 4, 2010. I will be located at offices in both Ottawa and Calgary.

The goal of the Mental Health Commission of Canada is to help bring into being an integrated mental health system that places people living with mental illness at its centre. The Knowledge Exchange Centre will allow governments, service providers, researchers and the general public to access evidence-based information about mental health and mental illness and to enable people across the country to engage in a variety of collaborative activities.

I am very excited about this new challenge and will be drawing from your knowledge, energy, skill, and vision as we build this resource for all Canadians – with strong links to the wider international community.

Knowledge Mobilization Works will continue to function as a resource for the knowledge mobilization community (So keep the knowledge broker stories coming). I remain as Chair. With my partners, we are developing a strategy to build on the past 3 years of work. We have begun a recruitment process for a new managing coordinator, advisory board members, and KMb consultants. We anticipate that 2010 will see a transformation of the current structure to one that can support the development of KMb capacity in Canada and internationally.

All my best,

Peter Levesque
