The Knowledge Translation (KT) Program at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital is looking for a full time temporary Research Coordinator I (RC I) for a two year contract.  In this practice-based KT role, the RC will work on developing, testing, and disseminating KT tools and resources targeting a variety of stakeholders (e.g.,physicians, patients, policymakers). The coordinator should have an understanding of tool development, KT, and dissemination. The position requires working with a large number of stakeholder groups; therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The RC will need to have a high level of attention to detail, yet be adaptable in a fast-paced working environment. Experience in guideline dissemination and familiarity with clinical terminology is an asset. This position will offer the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding team environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the creation of KT tools and resources, ensuring quality control
  • Design, test, and adapt KT tool and resources
  • Disseminate KT tools and resources nationally by liaising with external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with third party groups to seek engagement and potential endorsement
  • Coordinate project activities in collaboration with team
  • Liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Monitor the progress of project activities; develop and maintain records of project activities and prepare periodic reports as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies
  • Assist with project administration and implementation
  • Coordinate participant recruitment and scheduling of interviews and focus groups for usability testing
  • Maintain data documentation, physical and logical storage of records, in accordance with hospital policies and relevant privacy regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to write and edit presentations, reports, proposals, and publications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Health Sciences, Social Sciences (e.g. [medical] sociology, [medical] anthropology, psychology), Health/Research Communications, or a related field (Masters degree preferred)
  • Previous research coordinator experience would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Experience in a healthcare related setting is an asset
  • Familiarity with clinical terminology is an asset
