Position Description:
The Health Systems and Health Equity Research Group (HSHER) is a multidisciplinary group of research scientists and knowledge exchange specialists that looks at the design, delivery and effectiveness of health care, with a focus on systems, services and policies. It also looks at equity and access among those who are most vulnerable to developing mental health or addictions problems. The Evidence Exchange Network (EENet; formerly OMHAKEN) is coordinated through the HSHER at CAMH. EENet works to improve the quality of mental health and addictions services, supports, research and policy by linking and engaging service providers, planners, researchers, decision-makers, policy-makers, consumer/survivors and families in knowledge creation and exchange across all levels of government and the health care system in Ontario.
EENet has received funding to provide knowledge exchange support for a provincial, multi-organization initiative: the Ontario Drug Treatment Funding Program (DTFP).
Reporting to the Manager Knowledge Exchange the Research Methods Specialist (Knowledge Broker) will provide a key role in supporting EENet in fulfilling the identified knowledge exchange needs and will be responsible for a variety of knowledge exchange activities associated with EENet. The knowledge broker will engage in a variety of activities, including: (1) engaging researchers, policy makers, and health care decision-makers across Ontario in the development and application of research knowledge to effect timely, relevant, evidence-based decisions; (2) contributing to the development and implementation of knowledge exchange strategies and providing guidance, tools and training for the development and application of knowledge exchange plans for projects involved with EENet, and EENet overall; (3) tailoring material appropriately to enhance understanding and uptake; (4) building and maintaining collaborative relationships with user groups to ascertain their knowledge needs and preferences. This will also include developing profiles of how these groups prefer to receive new knowledge and in what form; and (5) designing, implementing and publishing evaluations of activities to advance the field of knowledge translation and exchange and demonstrate impact. The application of innovative, timely and responsive methods to identify and communicate best practices/proven strategies is an essential element of this role. Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess an Honour’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years related experience. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Previous experience working within either a research or a government environment would be an asset. You ideally possess specific training and experience in the science and practice of knowledge translation and exchange. Your experience includes: management of complex projects; facilitation of groups; adult education and training; development of work plans, budgets and communication plans; as well as literature search, quality appraisal, applicability assessment and interpretation. Advanced skills in project management, time management, interpersonal communication, and problem solving are required. You will also posses strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse task load. Proficiency in web-based tools and MS Office software, including spreadsheet and presentation applications is essential. You are able to work independently and possess the ability for self-directed learning, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. Demonstrated networking, leadership, relationship building, interpersonal and listening skills are required to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and to facilitate the development of partnerships. Understanding of knowledge exchange conceptual models, frameworks and strategies; and experience with a range of knowledge exchange methods(e.g. communities of practice, newsletters, workshops, online collaborative spaces, online repositories), with demonstrated ability to research, analyze and develop knowledge exchange options and strategies, would also be assets. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Salary Range: $ 32.93 – $ 44.40 per hour.
