Job Title: DIRECTOR, KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT (ACTING)

The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (the Partnership) is a dynamic, independent organization funded by the federal government to accelerate action on cancer control for all Canadians. Located in downtown Toronto, we bring together cancer survivors, patients and families, cancer experts and government representatives to implement the first pan-Canadian cancer control strategy. Our vision is to be a catalyst to help prevent cancer, enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer, lessen the likelihood of dying from cancer, and increase the efficiency of cancer control in Canada.
This role is in the Partnership’s Knowledge Management (KM) Division led by the Vice President. The Division is implementing a knowledge management strategy to support efforts to control cancer across Canada with three primary components: 1) the Cancer View Canada portal (www.cancerview.ca and www.vuesurelecancer.ca) which connects Canadians to high-quality cancer resources and information 2) cancer risk management and analytics, and 3) evaluation tools and metrics.
General Accountability
Reporting to the Vice President, Knowledge Management, the Director, KM is responsible for leading the content and collaboration strategy for Cancer View Canada (currently undergoing a significant redesign), and leading the Partnership’s strategy for the adoption and uptake of best practice. The Director works closely with several other directors and teams across the Partnership including the Directors of IT and Communications.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Masters degree in Health Administration, Health Policy or related field
 Minimum 5 years experience in a related role
 Minimum 3 years experience managing staff
 Strong cancer control knowledge base and established stakeholder relations/networks at both the provincial and national level
 High familiarity with the health care environment nationally, ideally with experience in the cancer domain
 Demonstrated leadership and management skills especially in a multidisciplinary environment
 Demonstrated ability to establish strong partnership relationships, and develop strategy that aligns partners.
 Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset
 Thorough knowledge of knowledge translation theory, and the requirements for successful knowledge translation activities an asset
 A leader and team player accustomed to gracefully working and delivering results within a pressure-filled environment
 Experience engaging multiple stakeholders in the development of strategy
 Ability to develop excellent working relationships with partner organizations
 Familiar with successful knowledge translation strategies and development of useful tools and environments to support their success
 High level of familiarity with knowledge translation strategies
 Excellent written and verbal communications skills
 Ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines
 Creativity, self-motivation, initiative and the ability to interact and work effectively with others
 Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of health sector issues/challenges, preferably cancer
