Knowledge Transfer & Exchange Associate
The Institute is currently recruiting for a Knowledge Transfer & Exchange Associate to work with our research program in the prevention of work-related injury and illness. The Institute for Work & Health is an acknowledged leader in knowledge transfer practice to ensure that our research evidence is available, understandable and usable for decision-makers. The Knowledge Transfer & Exchange Associate will build relationships with our stakeholder audiences to enhance their understanding and use of research evidence in the design and delivery of programs to support working conditions and health, vulnerable workers and effective occupational and health practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Knowledge Transfer and Exchange Associate will be responsible for:
- supporting the integration of knowledge transfer principles in the design and implementation of individual research projects,
- developing and implementing evidence-based strategies and work plans for the transfer of evidence and research messages to specific audiences,
- building and strengthening the Institute’s relations with a diverse community of partners and stakeholders,
- supporting outreach activities to enhance the capacity of audiences to understand research and use evidence,
- supporting the identification of research needs identified by target audiences,
- project management duties as required
Skills and Experience
Qualified candidates for this position would be expected to demonstrate the following:
- professional or practice experience in a field relevant to the prevention of injury and illness and/or the management of work disability,
- experience in the design and delivery of knowledge transfer services in an active research organization, or experience in integration of research evidence in policy development or program design,
- sound understanding of research methods,
- well developed interpersonal skills, comfort and experience presenting to audiences and experience in the facilitation of consensus processes,
- familiarity with electronic communication technologies such as webinars is desirable,
- well developed written communication skills
- strong project management skills.
Organizational Relationship: This position reports to the Director, Knowledge Transfer & Exchange. The Knowledge Transfer & Exchange Associate will have regular contacts with Institute research staff and external stakeholder audiences.
Salary Range: Salary will depend on qualifications and experience, with a salary range of $65,000-$78,000. Suitability for the position will be assessed at 6 months.
