About the Organization |
Solutions for Kids in Pain (SKIP) is a national knowledge mobilization network and a Dalhousie University Research Centre whose mission is to improve children’s pain management by mobilizing evidence-based solutions through coordination and collaboration. SKIP’s focus is on knowledge mobilization. Specifically, SKIP leads activities and initiatives that mobilize the best available research on children’s pain from around the globe to ensure that existing evidence is effectively shared, translated, and applied in practice and in policy across Canadian health institutions. Our goal is to improve children’s pain management in Canada and beyond.

Job Summary |
Reporting to SKIP’s Scientific Director, the Project Coordinator will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia in SKIP’s Administrative Centre on the Dalhousie Halifax campus. They will work closely with the Associate Scientific Director, Managing Director, other Project Coordinator(s), and broader national network. A key responsibility of this role is to support SKIP’s knowledge mobilization efforts by summarizing and critically appraising existing research evidence on children’s pain. The Project Coordinator will also play a pivotal role in leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of various projects and initiatives at SKIP (e.g., supporting efforts for widespread adoption of the Pediatric Pain Management health standard [CAN/HSO13200:2023] at diverse hospitals across Canada), as well as general operations.

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on the Dalhousie campus and remote work from Halifax Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. All applications from outside of Nova Scotia should indicate that the applicant is willing to relocate to Halifax. National and/or international travel, estimated to be approximately <5%-time commitment, may be required. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines and other operational requirements. |
