This is the Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) subject matter expert for the Patient Access and Clinical Transformation teams within the Population Health Portfolio. The role is consultative and operational in nature for both the department and, when required, for other teams requiring KTE across the portfolio.

Here is what you will be doing:
Strategic Planning
- Provides input on the overall portfolio communication plan, with a focus on integrating knowledge dissemination and evaluation into the department’s relevant activities
- Works with project leads and/or Director/Manager to define communication objectives
Subject Matter Advice
- Develops frameworks, standards, plans and tools for KTE within the Clinical Transformation department
- Works with members of the department to determine the most effective ways to mobilize new knowledge into reports, presentations/webinars, and online content aimed at a variety of information users, including but not limited to OH management and staff, policy and decision makers, and healthcare planners in Ontario
- Consults with members of the Population Health portfolio and provides advice on KTE
- Leads and supports initiatives as assigned, to develop KTE, whether for operations, projects, or research
Stakeholder Engagement
- Proactively engages with stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs for information
- Develops partnerships to ensure the relevance and quality of our knowledge products
- Works with other OH departments (e.g. Communications, Digital Excellence, OH Regions, etc.) to enable new, innovative modes of information dissemination, such as online forums, blogs, podcasts, social media, and infographics
- Acts as a representative for the department’s activities involving knowledge translation, dissemination and evaluation activities (e.g. internal and external research collaborations)
Content Development
- Knowledge Translation – convert complex concepts, program models & evaluation findings into graphical and easy-to-understand resources for a variety of communications vehicles, both print and digital, with a focus on resources for OHTs
- Works collaboratively with the team to develop compelling, patient-focused web content
- Supports the development and implementation of Ontario Health’s communications products related to the work of the portfolio, including reports, newsletters, web-content, etc.
- Supports the OH Communications teams in delivering innovative and engaging social media content related to work within the portfolio
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Qualification
- Post-secondary education (College Diploma or University Degree) in communications, public relations, journalism or health-related field
- 5-7 years of work experience supporting communications initiatives, with emphasis on knowledge translation and evaluation
- Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of knowledge translation and exchange (KTE) such as knowledge synthesis, data visualization, product development, dissemination, exchange, management, and evaluation
- Experience developing resources and using software that enable content to meet AODA guidelines
- Sound knowledge of Ontario’s public health sector, its professional groups and organizations and Ontario Health Teams
- Judgment, planning and organizational skills to ensure that research, analysis and information needs and requirements are established and met, with priorities and deadlines being observed in support of the achievement of overall program goals.
- Advisory and communication skills to collaborate with a broad range of contacts
- Strong written communication skills to prepare information analysis reports and develop presentations.
- Project planning and management. Adept at balancing concurrent tasks and projects and work effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment in setting priorities, identify issues and determine action required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite in particular Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher
- Bilingualism (French and English) preferred

Paygrade and Zone: Grade 5 Zone A
