As a Knowledge Translation and Exchange Specialist, you will support Ontario Health’s Occupational Cancer Research Centre’s (OCRC) Knowledge Transfer and Exchange (KTE) strategy and activities.

Here is what you will be doing:
- Oversees OCRC’s knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE) activities and translates strategic program
objectives into operational KTE activities - Coordinates OCRC KTE activities with OCRC’s partners at OH, as appropriate
- Liaises with OCRC’s external funders and partner organizations such as CAREX and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)
- Responsible for the research of emerging trends and best practices and determines the implications for OCRC strategies
- Consults externally to identify partnerships with occupational health and safety organizations, practitioners, stakeholders, research users
- Where required, deals with vendors or contractors, including negotiating contracts, managing issues and ensuring agreements are met
- Supports decision making and recommends solutions prior to escalation to the Group Manager/Director.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Experience
- A degree in occupational health, occupational epidemiology, or a relevant degree with equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience with various aspects of occupational cancer research
- Proven ability to communicate occupational cancer research findings, including statistical results, in appropriate form to diverse audiences, among them scientists, funders, stakeholders, user groups, the general public
- Experience with presenting research results and research messages in different formats, including reports, executive summaries, posters, pamphlets
- Demonstrated familiarity with different types of data presentation, such as plain-language text, charts, graphs, infographics, and via websites and social media
- Experience in engaging key stakeholders, leading discussions, preparing conferences, making sound decisions

- Ability to coordinate KTE activities
- Excellent organizational skills, commitment to accuracy and ability to meet short deadlines
- Familiarity with communicating on digital media – Internet, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
