Knowledge Exchange Manager
This is a dynamic time of change for SafeGuards Training. We are looking for an energetic Knowledge Exchange Manager who will be responsible for the development and implementation of evidence-based and practise-based knowledge exchange, workplace learning, training and resources. You will further strategies to assess the needs of the field and keep abreast of current evidence-based practises to ensure training and resources support current practices. Working with the team, you will enhance Safeguard’s capacity and expand learning and development opportunities across related sectors and facilitate strong stakeholder partnerships. The KE Manager reports to the Executive Director and work with the Knowledge Exchange Committee and staff to meet and perhaps exceed objectives, plans and budget.
Principal Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of evidence-based and practise-based knowledge exchange, workplace learning and training.
Needs Assessment and Program Evaluation:
Implement strategies to obtain and analyse feedback from constituents to inform plans that result in high quality knowledge exchange and delivery models.
Program Development
Manage the Call for Proposals and the search to create leading-edge team of experts/trainers/content developers to meet the needs of stakeholders.
Provide comprehensive program recommendations to the Executive Director and Knowledge Exchange Committee to develop the calendar of training.
Implementation of Training Programs:
Oversee the implementation of the approved Calendar of Training. Contract trainers, and consultants and supervise their work. Liaise with Training Coordinator who looks after on-going operational details of training.
Ensure appropriate information is provided for the website, marketing materials and social media and related databases. Work with Executive Director and Marketing Coordinator to support marketing strategies.
Onsite Workplace Learning:
Manage the In-service Training Program which involves consultation with agencies, content experts and consultants to ensure high quality customized workplace learning. Manage the Subject Matter Expert Database to grow the roster of high-quality team for onsite workplace learning. Liaise with Training Coordinator who oversees the operational details.
Partnerships/Networking:
Increase partnerships with organizations and academic institutions to identify and/or facilitate learning and development opportunities.
Represent Safeguards in sharing/exchanging information with relevant stakeholders regarding learning and development opportunities at regional, provincial, and national levels.
Workplans/Budgets/Reporting:
In relation to areas of responsibilities manage budgets, work plans and related contracts.
Document work and provide written reports/presentations to Executive Director, Knowledge Exchange Committee, the Board and other sector network groups as required.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in the fields of knowledge exchange, adult education, psychology, social work or equivalent.
- Mental health/social services experience at a management level.
- Advanced level experience in workplace learning and adult education. Ability to provide training an asset.
- Understanding of instructional design, learning and development trends, including learning technology and the application in workplace learning.
- Experience in regional and/or provincial children mental health/social services or related sector committees, advisory groups or project teams
- Understanding of diversity issues affecting mental health/social services delivery and the
role that learning resources and strategies can play in addressing them
- Demonstrated skills in leading and supervising advisory committees, contractors in the design and production of learning products
- Demonstrated Project Management knowledge and skills sufficient to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent oral communication skills and superior written communication, editing and proof-reading skills to ensure production of high quality educational materials and website content.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (with access to a reliable vehicle) an asset
