Career Opportunity: Manager, Drug Treatment Funding Program (DTFP) Implementation Team

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a Manager, DTFP Implementation Team to work as a part of the Knowledge Exchange Unit with the Provincial System Support Program.

Position Description:

CAMH’s Provincial System Support Program supports system-level coordination of the development, implementation and monitoring of evidence-informed practices for mental health and addictions services in Ontario and facilitates knowledge exchange. Core functions of the program include: health promotion and prevention; knowledge exchange and communications; supporting the implementation of evidence-informed programs and practices; and understanding and evaluating efforts through performance measurement and implementation research. The Ontario Drug Treatment Funding Program System Projects (DTFP-ON), funded through Health Canada, have produced tools for the addiction treatment system in Ontario, and there is an opportunity to move towards implementation of those new tools developed.

Reporting into the Director of Knowledge Exchange, the Manager will manage the DTFP Evidence Exchange Network (EENet) Project, and lead a DTFP Implementation Team. Management of this team will involve providing leadership and supervision to staff, developing work plans for the team, reporting and supporting implementation of work plans. Working in close collaboration with stakeholders and partners, the Manager will work to develop pilot implementation plans for those tools ready for implementation during the 2013/14 fiscal year and oversee the implementation and evaluation of these pilots. The Manager will develop long-term implementation plans for full provincial scale up of these tools as well as other DTFP products that will be completed during the 2013/14 year. The Manager will use a coordinated implementation approach, utilize evidence-based methods of implementation, and work towards laying the groundwork for broader implementation of DTFP results across the system. The Manager will ensure that work is well-integrated with the KE Unit and EENet, and also be responsible for integrating activities where overlap exists among DTFP projects. The Manager will assume other responsibilities as appropriate.

This position is located at 33 Russell Street in Toronto, and will involve occasional travel to pilot sites in Ontario.

Qualifications:

You ideally possess specific training and experience in the science and practice of implementation, and knowledge translation and exchange with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Your experience includes: management of complex projects; facilitation of groups; adult education and training; development of work plans, budgets and communication plans; as well as literature search, quality appraisal, applicability assessment and interpretation. Advanced skills in project management, time management, interpersonal communication, and problem solving are required. Understanding of implementation science and knowledge exchange conceptual models, frameworks and strategies; and experience with implementation science and knowledge exchange methods, with demonstrated ability to research, analyze and develop implementation science and knowledge exchange strategies, would also be assets.
