Senior Program Coordinator, Clinical Education

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is looking for candidates with extensive health care system knowledge and continuing medical education (CME) and/or continuing professional development (CPD) expertise, to support and enhance the Foundation’s knowledge translation and exchange (KTE) efforts for healthcare professionals.  Specifically in the development of annual CME programs such as:  the Heart&Stroke Clinical Update, the Stroke Collaborative, the Heart&Stroke Vascular Collaborative, web portal and related resources for healthcare providers.

You will be responsible for the development, design, and management of the above events in collaboration with key healthcare partners.  Working collaboratively with this multidisciplinary group, you will help drive the program agenda development.

As well, you will manage the accreditation process, including adherence to accreditation application standards / requirements and making sure all program elements comply with professional and industry guidelines.

This position will also assist in the planning and development of future KTE and e-learning initiatives for healthcare professionals.

This position is ideal for someone with:

  • University degree in health related disciplines
  • 5 years of experience working within the healthcare system (especially in the Stroke system)
  • Experience in developing and managing Mainpro and Maincert  CME programs
  • Understanding of knowledge translation and exchange (KTE) and adult learning principles and / or experience in applying KTE in program development
  • Knowledge in professional and industry guidelines such as CMA policy, Rx&D Guidelines, Natural Health Products Directorate and PAAB etc.
  • Forward thinking self starter who demonstrates the ability to take initiative, detail-oriented and can manage projects independently
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills, especially with healthcare professionals and researchers
  • Team player with superior communications and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Formal education/training in project /program management preferred.
